FAQ

Q: How do I listen and interact with your broadcasts at BlogTalk Radio?
A: A very important question. To listen to a podcast of a certain broadcast, you can use the BlogTalk Radio media players located on several websites - including this one (if you would like to add this widget to your website, contact us for instructions). pdtalklive@aol.com

Q: Is PD TALK LIVE a non-for-profit group?
A: Nope. Our role is more of a media and information outlet announcing  events that are of interest to the Parkinson's community. All donations we get go towards paying the overhead to keep free (huh?) speech alive.

Q: So if you don't ask for donations how do you do this?
A: Very carefully! Ha-ha! Actually it's a true statement. We watch our pennies, live on a budget, and pay the bills every month. We have recently added some advertising, and a bookstore from Amazon on our site, which we get a small percentage of any sales purchased through our site, but it's to new to see any results.

Q: What is THE Pforce Network?
A: PFORCE is the name of the network that all of the programs are produced under. It did stand for Parkinson's Force, but now we've changed it to "Positive Force" since we're adding more programs to accommodate more people looking to achieve more through  motivation and positivity!

Q: I noticed you have a bookstore list with many positive books. Is it secure to order? Does my order come directly from The Pforce Network?

A: Yes, it's very secure! No your order comes from Amazon. We are an affiliate seller. When you purchase a book from our site, we get a small percentage of the sale. This helps to keep Positive Radio alive. We pay for all our equipment and overhead. We are not funded by anyone at this time. We do appreciate you purchasing from us, and supporting our advertisers. Thank you.

Q: Are Rich and Kim married?
A: To quote someone famous who went rogue  -" YOU BETCHA! " Next year will mark their 15th year!

Q: I noticed the donation buttons on your site. Does the donation go towards research?
A: We have just recently added the donation buttons to our site.  We have from the very beginning of the life of PD Talk Live had the same goals - spreading PD awareness, giving cyber support to families dealing with what OUR family lives with, and providing outlets (online radio and our website) for foundations, events, information, news, interviews of people of interest, and allowing others to use this outlet to voice their opinions, and help others through discussions. When you donate, the donation is used toward keeping the broadcast on the air, the website online, and the phone bills, etc. Since day one, our family has paid the bills, but as things get more expensive, and we get more listeners - we need more bandwidth and more equipment, as well as other tech stuff. If you wish to donate, please do so ONLY if you can afford to. The more listeners we get, the more PD awareness increases, which is our mission, but it does increase overhead.

Q: Are Rich and Kim available for speaking engagements?
A: We're more than happy to speak, moderate, or assist in hosting your event. Just e-mail us at pdtalklive@live.com with the details. We'll respond within 48 hours.

Q: What is PD Talk Live about?
A: Parkinson's Disease Talk Live (PD Talk Live) was our initial experiment into the world of online broadcasting. It's was a 90-minute weekly program primarily covering Rich and Kim's experiences living with PD in their life. They also covered the latest PD news, interview guests. As of January 1st, 2010 the program has changed to a weekly podcast. The format remains the same, but now the episodes are prerecorded.

Q: Will The Pforce Network be adding any new programming?
A: Hello, good question. We have plans for several programs starting in the near future. Starting soon is Getting Positive with Rich & Kim.

Q: How long has PD Talk Live been on the air?
A: We started doing the broadcast in January 2008 on the Talkshoe Network. Several months later we moved the broadcast to Blog Talk Radio - the largest online radio network! We did this because the chance of a larger audience, to us, meant the possibility of more awareness of the disease - which is the whole reason we do PD Talk Live. We need to inform the public about Parkinson's Disease! We have done over 100 live broadcasts to date. Now we venture into several new projects in addition to PD Talk Live - The Podcast!
